God Bless M&S

I’ve bought all my stuff! A whole new wardrobe! All in one go!

For the past 3 months, I’ve spent days and evenings and afternoons, traipsing around shops, looking at the same damn suits, same damn shirts, same damn shoes. I was contemplating not actually going to Japan because of the damn clothes.

Meanwhile over in Wisconsin, Dave has so many clothes, shirts of every colour and don’t even get me started on the ties. Every time we went out shopping for me, we came home with clothes for him. And he looks so good in it all!

I’d made a start by buying two pairs of black trousers and a black skirt with Dave’s Express discount, but with 6 weeks to go, that was as far as I’d gotten.

Until Last night!

It started off like most of my shopping trips. Diet Coke and Toffee Crisp fuelled, going into shops I’d never dreamed of, trying on colours and styles that even my mam wouldn’t wear. I was just about to slip into a fashion comma (or coma), when I walked sceptically into Marks & Spencers.

I brought 8 things into the dressing room and 15 minutes later I’d spent €260! It was so painless!

I bought two black jackets to go with my express stuff and a black flippy skirt to make up two black suits. I can go the conservative route pairing it with the white shirt or sexy and ruthless (yeah right!) with the black. The killer light grey and baby blue suit looks fab with my new baby blue shirt. And since I was on a roll I bought a pair of sexy high heels too!

I was so excited!! Even though it was pissing rain and I was paranoid that my paper bags were going to split, I giggled all the way home. And as if I wasn’t self-satisfied enough, I then put my feet up and had a couple bottles of Corona and a pizza. Mmmm heaven.

YAY Clothes!

Walton

So my dad is off wine tasting, garlic picking, cycling around with a baguette in his basket.... Well he's in France, visiting my sister's house.

So my mam and me have a free house, partying with a couple bottles of wine, croquette potatoes and far too much chatting. Actually really enjoying it.

Making me realise how far away I'll be soon.

Up, Up and ....

So while enjoying the sights and sounds of Wisconsin, Dave also finally got me climbing.

We've been intending to go for ages, but despite all the other stuff stopping us, I'm a big scaredycat.

So after an evening getting drilled in the knots and all the other 'belay' stuff (hee hee look at me acting like I know what I'm talking about), we went off to Vertical Stronghold and I passed my test and we were away!

I was actually more nervous about belaying him (being in charge of making sure he doesn't die when he's climbing) than when I was climbing. But I did really enjoy it. It was tough, and sometimes really frustrating but after my muscles had forgiven me (quite a few days later), I was kinda disappointed that I didn't get to try some of the walls again.

Suppose it's one of things I like most about him. He makes me try stuff I normally wouldn't think of, or even more fun, things I do think of but am too scared or silly to try. And best of all, he makes it not scary, and so much fun. Damn him.

I'll get off the soppy crap and back to the Japan stuff soon! Probably...

Out of Sight

So been quiet lately ... Not much happening on the Japan front, or the life front for that matter.

But I did have a really nice couple of weeks over with Dave. We didn't do anything really. Just hung out together but made me remember how much I love just doing stupid crap with him.

We shopped for Japan stuff and I finally made a start, with thanks to Dave's Express discount. We ate, we cooked bread, made thai green curry, waffles. We drank beer, wine, sake. We went to a great Japanese place, Koko Sushi, had tuna stuffed with prawns, a sushi platter, sake and my personal favourite, chocolate covered strawberries!!!

We played Mario Kart on his new Nintendo DS, tempting me sorely to get one too. I bought new RAM for my i-Book. We got obsessed with this test thingy. Went to the cinema. Played with Belle, the cutest darn puppy I've ever seen. She's a tiny Cock-a-Poo pup belonging to Mel and Bob, Dave's friends. I even subjected him to the OC!

It was hard to leave this time. It should be easier. When I see him next, it'll be for a while. Sure we'll be sick of each other. But it's still hard.
